My name is, Kamar Porter, I am known in the ballroom scene as The Legendary Kamar Ebony/007 I have been apart of the ballroom over 17 yrs . I am a black transgender man, born and raised in Boston, MA , my pronouns are he/him. I am an activist and advocate in my community. I have worked in Boston for several LGBTQ serving organizations, I currently work at Boston GLASS a youth focused drop in center for BIPOC youth and young adults . I am a song writer, singer, drummer, beat maker, and actor. I am super creative and currently working on bringing talent/night life for LGBTQ BIPOC people.

Artist Statement:

My love for community is definitely what motivates me. Positive cultural spaces. Wanting to be able to put folks on in the industry with some of the true gems we have here in the city of Boston.

Project Description:

The concept for this grant is to put that money back into the hands of the artist . Whoever wins “spotlight live” will be benefited with a grand prize of 5000 dollars and studio time.

This project is to serve BIPOC LGBTQ+and bring us together on an artistry level other than ballroom . A different path to groom new up and coming Boston artists that are QTBIPOC.
